Who am I?
My name is Clara Baruffati and I run ON IT Translations, a comprehensive language services provider. I offer translation and interpreting from French and Italian into English as well as editing and proofreading services in English. I am based in France and as such subject to the requirements of the new General Data Protection Regulation, which came into force on 25th May 2018.
What data do I collect?
Personal data collected may include your name, postal address, email address, telephone number and VAT number. Personal data may also include banking details, personal information on CVs or information on documents sent for the express purpose of translation, interpreting or editing/proofreading.
How do I collect your data?
You directly provide my company with most of the data I collect. I collect and process data when:
- You sign up for my free guide and/or newsletter
- You request a quote
- You contact me via email or the contact form on my website
- Use or view my website via your browser’s cookies
How will I use your data?
I collect, store and use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To issue quotes
- To provide translation, interpreting or editing/proofreading services as requested by you
- To issue invoices
- To email you my free guide and/or newsletter
- To comply with legal requirements
How do I store your data?
My Company securely stores your data on password-protected computers and is not accessible by third parties.
My Company will keep your personal data for 10 years. Once this time period has expired, I will delete your data.
What are your data protection rights?
My Company would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
The right to access – You have the right to request My Company for copies of your personal data. I may charge you a small fee for this service.
The right to rectification – You have the right to request that My Company correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request My Company to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
The right to erasure – You have the right to request that My Company erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that My Company restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to My Company’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to data portability – You have the right to request that My Company transfer the data that I have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
